Ryder’s Grand Champion Win

Ryder, my oldest, truly shined this year. He took two calves to the fair, and I couldn’t be prouder to say that he won Grand Champion Supreme with his all-other-breeds calf! Watching him put in the hard work and dedication, and then seeing it all pay off with that win, was such a rewarding experience. He sure enjoys spending time with his Grandpa at the Peasley Dairy Farm. We might have another farmer! Ryder had his team with him Myles (little brother), Tommy (cousin) and Tony Mendez.

Dylan’s Blue Ribbon Success

Dylan also made us proud, doing well in his class with his dairy Holstein calf and earning a well-deserved blue ribbon. Seeing his confidence grow and his excitement was one of those mom moments I’ll cherish forever.

Myles and His 18 Chickens

And then there’s my youngest, Myles—oh, the joy he had showing his 18 chickens! Yes, you read that right, 18! Myles was in his element, and thanks to the wonderful care and guidance he’s received from Mary at daycare, he came home with a bunch of blue ribbons. Mary, who just retired this year, has always taught the kids how to raise and care for chickens, and seeing them show their hard work at the fair was a testament to her dedication. Thank you, Mary, for everything you’ve done for Myles and all the kids!

Learning from Brady and Supporting Local Youth

We also had the pleasure of showing dairy with Brady Blaken, who took the time to teach my boys all the ins and outs of showing. It was such a meaningful experience for them, and we loved that we could purchase his pig at the Junior Livestock & Dairy Basket Auction to support him! Supporting our local community is a top priority for me, and I’m so grateful for opportunities like these to connect and contribute.

Looking Ahead to a New Season

Now that summer is wrapping up, the boys have settled into their first few weeks back at Melrose-Mindoro School District. It’s a new season, but the memories we made this summer—especially at the fair—will stay with us for a long time.

NEW Vacation Home to Rent in Black River Falls

We are so excited to finally share something we’ve been working on for the past few weeks! Recently, we teamed up with my brother and sister-in-law to add another beautiful vacation home to our area. We want everyone to experience the stunning beauty of the place we are blessed to call home!

It’s an honor to become the new owners of this special property and carry on its legacy. Welcome to “The Black River Nest”!

Check out the listing and feel free to share with your friends and family! We can’t wait for you to enjoy this amazing spot by the river.

Thank you to everyone who made this summer so special, and here’s to all the wonderful things to come!

Blessings - Jane
